Kudrna & Associates, Ltd., led a design team in the development of conceptual design plan for 3.2-acre park honoring Jean Baptiste Pointe DuSable. The park, located east of Lake Shore Drive between Ogden Slip and the Chicago River in Chicago, will include paths and open space in a natural setting with landscape that features native plantings typifying the period of DuSable.

Complete project management, site engineering and construction observation services for all earthwork and infrastructure improvements for a 350-acre, 36-hole golf course built atop a landfill at Lake Calumet for Illinois International Port District.

Provided engineering services for the development of a 230-acre site into a 18-hole golf course. Services included design of parking for 200 vehicles, an entrance road, full utility service (water, sewer, power) and an irrigation pond and pump station. Permitting included a Joint Permit Application for wetland work as well as a Lake County Stormwater Management Control Permit. Included full wetland delineation survey and a Phase I - Archaeological survey. A project goal was to achieve an Audubon Signature designation for the site.

North Point Marina, Illinois Beach State Park

North Point Marina, Illinois Beach State Park, Winthrop Harbor, Illinois - Kudrna & Associates, Ltd., prepared complete site engineering plans for the 140-acre, $36 million North Point Marina in Lake County for the State of Illinois Capital Development Board/Illinois Department of Conservation. Site development for the marina and recreational facilities included: breakwaters, site grading, roads, 12 acres of parking for 1,500 vehicles, multi-lane launch ramp, floating docks and piers, dredging, drainage, sanitary sewers, water mains, permits (IEPA and Section 404), lighting, landscaping, and wetland mitigation.

Pre-design activities included feasibility studies, preparation of a dredging plan, archaeological investigation, subsurface investigations, modeling and environmental assessment, including prairie and wetland mitigation and traffic impact.
