Site Development Projects

Kudrna & Associates was awarded a contract for professional engineering services, in order to determine how many home sites could be developed on a 10 acre site and their approximate size. Kudrna provided the location and size of required stormwater detention; the location, size and type of stormwater discharge structures; overall site grading; utility design and subdivision plat.

Design Services Included:

• Completed a 10 lot subdivision plat;
• Completed permitting review by the village of Burr Ridge, Illinois Environmental Protection Agency Water and Sewer, Army Corps of Engineers, Illinois Department of Natural Resources Office of Water Resources, Cook County Highway Department and Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago;
• Designed culvert replacement and new bridge for dedicated street creek crossing;
• Design of water, storm sewer, and sanitary sewer utilities;
• Completed site grading with compensatory flood plain volume provided for flood plain fill;
• Design of three separate stormwater detention basins with sediment separation devices and individual restricted discharge devices to 79th street ditch.

Kudrna & Associates provided preparation of civil engineering site plans for construction a residential/commercial development in Downtown Willow Springs. The development consists of 103 condominium units. The first floor consists of retail space, an indoor parking garage and a clubhouse and pool. Provded subdivision plat and individual condominium surveys.

Provided civil engineering services for Medinah on the Lakes condominium project for The Gammonley Group. Kudrna provided preliminary engineering, tree survey and wetland delineation for the 24-acre site. Final engineering consisted of complete grading, site engineering, water main, sanitary sewer and storm sewer in conformance with DuPage County Stormwater Ordinance. Engineering plans also included design of two stormwater detention ponds, floodplain compensation, riparian environment restoration and access road reconstruction. The proposed development consists of one four-story condominium building and two seven-story condominium buildings totaling 208 residential units.

Kudrna & Associates, Ltd., was part of a team led by Shapiro Architects to convert an existing aircraft hangar at Midway Airport, 5000 W. 63rd Street in Chicago, Illinois, to a cargo handling facility for Southwest Airlines. Prepared Schematic Site Plans; Grading and Drainage Design Plans; Utility Plans; Construction Details as required for Sewer, Curb and Gutter, Pavement Design, and Fencing Details; and Landscape Plans.

Involved design and construction of a new depot; demolition of the old depot; reconfiguration of parking lot and addition of spaces and ADA improvements; replacement of platforms; landscaping; and improvements to parking lot and platform lighting.
